Like many a radio presenter before me, I enjoyed a musical upbringing but was limited in my own musical endeavours by my fairly obvious lack of any particular ability.
Childhood car journeys were spent listening to my parents' cassettes of anything from Mozart to Buddy Holly to ELO and singing along with gusto. I had a crack at learning piano, recorder (of course!), cello (very briefly) and I am proud to say I was in our frankly-excellent primary school choir.
Guitar lessons in my teenage years plus attending all manner of live music performances (pop bands, indie bands, West End musicals and classical recitals) all stirred together to create someone who was never going to exist too far away from music.
Since I couldn't be a musician I decided to play other people's music on the radio instead.
Through the years I have 'jocked' on local and regional stations around the country and currently present a weekend show on kmfm in Kent, the same station on which I also presented the Breakfast Show for over 2 years. (That required a lot of coffee.)
Celebrity interviews have included Meghan Trainer, Ed Sheeran, Little Mix, Craig David, John Newman and even Bagpuss and Elmo (please don't ever expect me to choose a favourite between those two!).
I have broadcast from the London Marathon (yes, I was running it!), a zip-wire, a climbing wall, several shopping centres, some fields and even from poolside in both Jamaica and the Bahamas. Well, it's a tough job, but....
Relaxed and natural on camera, I have filmed promotional videos for P&O Ferries and Breast Cancer Care, and my live event hosting work often includes interviews done to camera. I have even popped up on Good Morning Britain (ITV1), featuring on a report about over-competitive parents at school sports day...
Local Christmas lights switch-ons, stage intros at festivals, narrations for live catwalk shows, corporate awards evenings, I am comfortable, confident and appropriate in all settings. From infant to pensioner, I can make all your on-stage guests feel welcome and relaxed and, crucially, can keep things running to time!
Contact me to find out how I can make your event slick, fun and memorable. :)
